Our Experience
Changing Footprint is a sustainability and energy consultancy built on extensive, hands-on experience delivering carbon reduction, energy efficiency and energy project delivery across complex organisations.
Before establishing Changing Footprint, our team worked across consultancy and in-house roles, supporting public and private sector organisations to move from ambition and compliance through to investable programmes and delivered projects. That experience shapes how we work today: practical, evidence-led and focused on outcomes as well as reports.
The examples below draw on selected experience from previous roles and illustrate the types of challenges we help organisations solve. While anonymised, they are real and representative of the scale, complexity and delivery environments our clients face.
What our experience covers
Across our work, we have supported organisations to:
- Quantify a Carbon baseline and translate Carbon and net zero ambitions into credible, investable programmes.
- Work alongside in-house teams to build confidence and capability.
- Address operational and maintenance concerns that can otherwise stall progress.
- Identify and prioritise energy and Carbon saving opportunities across large, diverse estates.
- Develop robust business cases that stand up to internal scrutiny.
- Manage procurement and delivery of low-carbon energy projects.
Our experience spans the full lifecycle — from early-stage assessment and strategy through to procurement, installation and performance evaluation.

How this experience informs our work today
The common thread across these examples is a focus on delivery confidence.
We understand the internal pressures our clients face — limited capital, operational risk, competing priorities and scrutiny from internal and external stakeholders. Having worked within and alongside client teams, we design our support to be proportionate, practical and aligned with how decisions are actually made.
Changing Footprint exists to help organisations move from knowing what they should do to delivering programmes with confidence.
